Context

In his third letter, written an estimated 5-6 months after his sentencing, the inmate documents what evidentially was a dream in which he has a conversation with his wife. From the previous 2 letters, the inmate now takes a stance of pleading as opposed to questioning, almost as if he is making a deal. His use of brackets in this letter also deserves mention. We decided to call this letter "joseph" as he possibly alludes in the first line, "surrounded by haystacks", to the biblical figure of Joseph the dreamer: "Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it.” Genesis 37:6-7.
